Sensory isolation in a flotation tank is a method known for inducing sleep relaxation and subsequent positive health benefits from patients with various ailments. Various ailments can contain but are not limited to anxiety, sleep disorders, stress, attention disorders, PTSD, muscle strain, joint, back and nerve pain.
BENEfITS:
• Relieves tension on joints and muscles by providing an anti-gravity atmosphere.
• Forces the body to “restart” by simulating a “womb like” environment, treating anxiety and stress.
• Uses Chromotherapy (light therapy) to
relieve tension, inflammation and bacteria growth within the body, providing a full body detox.

WHAT IS IT LIKE?
The floater will step into the float pod where a rainbow of lights will be cycling through a light cycle. This cycle of light is the use of chromotherapy. Chromotherapy is the science of using colors to adjust the bodies vibrations to frequencies that result in health and harmony.
In addition to chromotherapy, sound therapy is present during your float. Research shows that soothing, ambient noise en- courages brain activity without intruding upon our focus on the task at hand – ideal for stoking creativity and engaging the brain across both hemispheres. Particularly for patrons new to float therapy, background music can help ease you into the rest- ful state you’re pursuing without allowing the mind to wander into intrusive thoughts. The playlist present during your float has thoughtfully been chosen with music and sounds to match your heart rate, slow down blood pressure and ease your body into a fully relaxed state.
Now that we know what chromotherapy and sound therapy do for the body, let’s touch on Magnesium Sulfate. With 1000 pounds of epsom salt present in each float tank, magnesium is a very important part of the floating experience. Magnesium is required for energy production and the structural development of bone. Subsequently, magnesium deficiency is attributed to migraines and bone and joint health. For generations we have been familiar with a salt bath after a strenuous workout or a foot salt soak for sore feet...a full body salt float to balance the body and provide a detox effect is only beneficial.
The float experience can last 30-90 minutes, depending on the floater and their experience. As with anything, practice makes perfect. Many find it difficult to relax during their first couple floats. As the body becomes more accustomed to floating, it will recognize it’s environment quicker, resulting in reaching a rest relaxation state sooner each float. Ear plugs are recommended to prevent salt water from bothering the ears, petroleum jelly is provided to rub over any abrasions on the skin, and an after float shower is necessary to remove all salt water from the skin and hair.
The showers and locker room at Nouveau Medspa are equipped with our finest Davines hair products, Epionce skin cleansers and Korean body exfoliators to enhance your post floating ex- perience. Hair dryers and toiletries are provided in all locker rooms as well as robes, slippers and hair towels.
After floating we invite all guests to relax in our lounge, sip a cup of herbal tea and write about their float experience or re- cord their thoughts in a journal. We offer a variety of floating packages for frequent floaters as well as an introductory float price of 45.00 for your first time visit.
