Commonly referred to as non-invasive liposuction, Sculpsure is one of the most popular aesthetic services offered at Nouveau MedSpa & Salon in Chubbuck, ID. This innovative treatment is designed to help clients melt fat from their trouble regions and is the only body contouring treatment FDA-approved to tighten loose skin at the same time. Here’s what you need to know:
How Long Does Sculpsure Last?
The length of your Sculpsure treatment depends on several factors, including the size of the areas you are treating, how many areas you are treating during the session, and how much fat you are looking to have removed. On average, treating one area will last 25 minutes. During the first four minutes, the device warms up the targeted fat cells. In the last 21 minutes of treatment, the fat cells remain very hot until they die and liquefy.
How Many Areas Can Be Treated in One Session?
Most of our clients choose to have two to four areas treated in one session. Therefore, treatment usually lasts between 50 and 100 minutes. The most common areas treated with this device are the upper and lower abdomen, the lower and middle back, the sides, the chest, and the buttocks.
However, treatment may also be performed on the inner and outer thighs, backs of the knees, underarms, and chin areas, too. During your initial consultation, we will advise you on whether you have the right amount of fat to treat. For the best results, you should have neither too much fat nor not enough fat in your desired treatment area.
How Long Does Preparation for This Treatment Last?
Because this is a non-invasive treatment, there is not a lot of preparation required. Depending on your medical history and current health, you may need to avoid taking blood thinners in the three days leading up to your treatment. You should avoid alcohol in the three days before treatment and try to drink a gallon of water daily. Wear at least an SPF 30+ broad-spectrum sunscreen in the two weeks leading up to your treatment. It is crucial you do not have a sunburn in the treated area.
How Long Does Recovery From This Treatment Last?
Again, this is a non-invasive treatment. Therefore, there is no recovery or downtime. However, you should mirror the steps you took in your preparation. Drink a gallon of water daily for three days. Do not drink alcohol for three days. Do not take any medications or supplements that can thin your blood. For instance, you should avoid vitamin E supplements.
How Long Do the Results of Treatment Last?
The results of Sculpsure are considered permanent. It can take six to 12 weeks for your liquefied fat cells to travel through your lymphatic system and be flushed out as waste. However, once a fat cell is destroyed, it can never grow back. Therefore, you will permanently have fewer fat cells in the areas you treated.
The most important caveat to this is you will still gain weight if you consume calories in excess of what your body needs for fuel. Therefore, the fat cells that remain in your body will expand. Of course, there’s no telling where you will gain weight. You may receive treatment on your upper arms and gain fat later on your buttocks.
How Can I Ensure the Results of Treatment Last Forever?
To ensure the results of treatment last forever, we strongly encourage our clients to not gain or lose more than 10 pounds after treatment. It is important to not lose more than 10 pounds because “excessive” weight loss may cause your skin to sag. If that happens, you may need to come in for a follow-up appointment to tighten your skin.
It is equally important to not gain more than 10 pounds. First, there is the obvious issue of looking larger. Second, there is the issue that if you lose that weight again, you will end up with sagging or excess skin.
Who Is a Good Candidate for This Treatment?
As stated previously, there is a Goldilocks zone of the right amount of fat for a successful treatment. If you have too little fat, the device cannot be applied to your skin appropriately and therefore will not be very effective. Furthermore, if you have too much fat, you won’t be satisfied with the results of the treatment, which can only remove around 24% of localized fat cells.
There are several other factors to consider when determining if you are a good candidate for this treatment. To discover definitively if you are, you must come in for an initial consultation. During this initial consultation, we will review your medical history, current health, aesthetic goals, and current body fat distribution to determine if this treatment is a good fit for you.
